Manojit Samanta is an artist from West Bengal, India, with a diverse artistic background. He completed his B.F.A. at Indian Art College and his Masters in Visual Arts at the Govt Art College, Kolkata, India. Currently, he works as an art teacher at DPS School while maintaining his art practice. His art is inspired by the contrast between rural society and the often ironic aspects of urban culture. In addition to his painting and other art forms, Manojit also runs a tattoo studio where he creates contemporary tattoo designs, showcasing his versatility as an artist. His concept makes you think about how much we're all hooked on our phones and computers as if we're losing touch with real-life connections. He imagines a future where AI and robots might take over, and humans become more like machines, without much emotion or expression. It's a scary thought but also a cool idea for art, showing a world where technology changes everything. His art is like a question, asking us to think about where we’re going and whether we’re happy with that direction.
